What We Do

Our Programs

More than meals — we deliver nutrition, safety, and human connection to homebound neighbors across southern Larimer County.

Home-Delivered Meals
Program 01

Home-Delivered Meals

Nutritious, made-from-scratch meals delivered Monday through Friday between 11am and 1pm by caring volunteers. Each meal provides approximately 650 calories and one-third of the adult daily recommended dietary allowance, including protein, starch, vegetable, fruit, bread, and milk or juice. Frozen meals are also delivered once a week, and clients may order additional frozen meals for evenings and weekends.

Daily Wellness Checks
Program 02

Daily Wellness Checks

Every meal delivery includes a daily well-being visit by a friendly volunteer who ensures clients are safe. Volunteer drivers check on each client with a warm smile and a friendly hello, and report back to Meals on Wheels staff with any potentially unsafe situations. These wellness checks serve as a lifeline providing peace of mind and timely assistance.

Socialization & Connection
Program 03

Socialization & Connection

Consistent social interactions provided by volunteers combat loneliness and isolation among homebound individuals, fostering a sense of belonging. Through small, consistent moments, volunteers build meaningful relationships that help clients feel seen, remembered, and part of a caring community.

Friends on Wheels
Program 04

Friends on Wheels

This companion program connects dedicated volunteers with existing Meals on Wheels clients to combat isolation and foster meaningful connections. Launched in 2024, the initiative pairs volunteers for regular friendly visits beyond meal delivery times. The program celebrated its one-year anniversary in 2025.

Special Diets
Program 05

Special Diets

MOWLB accommodates various dietary needs including regular diet, no concentrated sweets, and modified texture diets. Meals are tailored to support the health and vitality of aging adults, ensuring they receive balanced nutrition suited to their specific requirements.

Resources & Referrals
Program 06

Resources & Referrals

Staff Support Coordinators provide referrals and resources to help keep clients independent and connected to community services. Clients and their families can call the office for details about available assistance programs and support options in southern Larimer County.

Nutrition Education
Program 07

Nutrition Education

Nutrition education is provided monthly at no cost along with the monthly menu. Clients receive quality information on current nutrition facts and dietary guidelines to support their health and well-being.

Blizzard Boxes
Program 08

Blizzard Boxes

Free Blizzard Boxes containing shelf-stable meals are provided annually to each client in the event of inclement weather conditions. These emergency food supplies ensure that clients have access to nutrition even when regular delivery may be disrupted by severe weather.

Pet Supply Help
Program 09

Pet Supply Help

Clients with cats and/or dogs who are in need of help with pet food supplies can request assistance through MOWLB’s partnership with the Colorado Pet Pantry. This program recognizes that pets are important companions for homebound individuals and helps ensure their furry friends are cared for as well.
