More Than a Meal

A connection that travels with every delivery

Every meal delivery includes a daily well-being visit by a friendly volunteer who ensures clients are safe. Volunteer drivers check on each client with a warm smile and a friendly hello, and report back to staff with any potentially unsafe situations.

Through small, consistent moments, volunteers build meaningful relationships that help clients feel seen, remembered, and part of a caring community.

What We Do

Programs That Nourish & Connect

Home-Delivered Meals

Nutritious, made-from-scratch meals delivered Monday through Friday by caring volunteers. Each meal provides ~650 calories and one-third of daily nutrition.

Daily Wellness Checks

Every delivery includes a well-being visit. Volunteers check on each client and report any concerns to ensure safety and peace of mind.

Socialization & Connection

Consistent social interactions combat loneliness and isolation, fostering belonging through meaningful volunteer-client relationships.

Friends on Wheels

A companion program pairing dedicated volunteers with clients for regular friendly visits beyond meal delivery times, launched in 2024.

Special Diets

Meals tailored to dietary needs including regular, no concentrated sweets, and modified texture diets for aging adults.

Blizzard Boxes & More

Emergency shelf-stable meals, pet supply assistance, nutrition education, and resource referrals to keep clients independent.

Stories of Impact

Every Meal Tells a Story

David did not just need a meal. He needed someone to notice. After a life-changing accident, meals disappeared and isolation settled in. Now, Meals on Wheels brings food, friendly check-ins, and the promise that someone will call if he does not answer the door.

Longtime Volunteers

A recent Meals on Wheels delivery really brought home the vital role our volunteers play in our community. A dedicated volunteer delivery driver, Jason, was on his regular route, delivering to Betty’s home. Typically, Betty waits for her delivery in a chair by the door.

Volunteer Driver & Client

A simple postcard from across the country tells a powerful story: Meals on Wheels is about more than delivering food—it’s about connection. Through small, consistent moments, volunteers build meaningful relationships that help clients feel seen, remembered, and part of a caring community.
